Missouri American Water’s 2021 Water Quality Report Available Online for Customers

ST. LOUIS, MO. (June 13, 2022) – Missouri American Water customers are encouraged to visit www.missouriamwater.com to view the 2021 Consumer Confidence Report to learn more about the source and quality of their drinking water. The primary source of drinking water for the St. Louis County and St. Charles County Areas are the Missouri River and the Meramec River.

Missouri American Water’s four local water treatment plants are nationally recognized with the Directors Award from the Partnership for Safe Water, a voluntary initiative developed by six prestigious drinking water organizations including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  The award recognizes systems for consistently surpassing federal and state drinking water standards. The company’s area water treatment facilities have been recognized with this distinction for 20 years.

“Our team of highly-skilled water quality experts and plant operators work around the clock to deliver safe, clean, reliable water service to our customers in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties,” said Tim Ganz, Director of Water Quality and Environmental Compliance for Missouri American Water. “We proudly meet or surpass state and federal health and safety regulations to keep high-quality water flowing to customers.”

This year Missouri American Water is investing nearly $400 million to upgrade water and wastewater treatment plants and pipeline systems across the state to further enhance water quality and service reliability.

The St. Louis operations team is also working with a team of community stakeholders to enhance its Source Water Protection Plan to reduce the risk of potential contamination to both the Missouri River and Meramec River.
