Jarold Jackson Named Operations Manager
Dateline City:
LEXINGTON, Ky.
Kentucky American Water has named veteran employee Jarold Jackson as
operations manager for the company’s central division field operations,
which includes service areas in portions of Bourbon, Clark, Fayette,
Harrison, Jessamine, Nicholas, Scott and Woodford counties. In this
role, Jackson will have responsibility for overseeing distribution
system maintenance field crews, hydrant inspection and valve-turning
programs, and field support activities such as leak detection, utility
locates, and warehouse/inventory operations. The role will also be
responsible for distribution-related center of expertise, supporting all
Kentucky operations in that regard.
Jackson began his career with Kentucky American Water in 1985 as a
utility person, becoming proficient in the production and distribution
aspects of the business, particularly in leak detection. He rose through
the ranks of the business assuming increasing levels of responsibility
in several supervisory positions, at times managing construction
contractors, meter reading functions, and field service representatives.
Jackson also was a key member of teams that brought forward important
business innovations such as deployment of mobile computer technology in
field service vehicles, upgrades involving electronic meter reading
devices and technology, and realignment of company resources to cover
expanding service areas. Most recently he has served a lead role in
training field services personnel for SAP deployment while serving as
operations supervisor for the central division distribution system,
managing all field work and directing activities to identify and
minimize non-revenue water loss. Since March 2014, Jackson has also
filled the operations manager role in an interim capacity.
Vice President of Operations Keith Cartier spoke highly of Jackson’s
selection to fill this role. “Jarold has helped our company realize many
of its successes over the years, particularly championing technology to
improve customer service and efficiency. I have great confidence in
Jarold’s leadership abilities and integrity. He is up to the challenge
of leading our central division operations team in providing service to
our customers now, and setting the stage for the future.”
Jackson is a native Lexingtonian. He is a certified Class IV water
distribution system operator in the state of Kentucky, and has received
the utility management professional designation from the Kentucky Rural
Water Association. Jackson is also an active volunteer in local civic
and charitable organizations. He lives in Lexington, KY with his wife
and has three adult children.
