Missouri American Water Hosting New Supplier Summit in Jefferson City on April 19th

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (March 29, 2022) – Missouri American Water is seeking additional contractors and diverse suppliers to support upcoming water and wastewater system improvements across mid-Missouri.

Prospective vendors and suppliers are encouraged to attend the company’s New Supplier Summit on Tuesday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Missouri American Water’s Jefferson City Service Center, located at 320 Hoover Rd., Jefferson, City, MO 65109.

“We’re planning to make significant upgrades to our water and wastewater systems in and around Jefferson City and Mexico over the next several years, and we need more local businesses and contractors to help us complete this work,” said Missouri American Water Manager of Engineering Tim Southards. “We hope interested contractors, subcontractors and diverse suppliers will attend our New Supplier Summit to learn about doing business with us.”

This year, Missouri American Water is slated to invest more than $13 million in and around Jefferson City to upgrade water and wastewater systems, including making repairs to treatment facilities, replacing aging water mains, hydrants, valves and pumps.

Diverse suppliers, including veteran-owned, women-owned and minority-owned businesses, are strongly encouraged to attend the New Supplier Summit and learn about becoming a vendor.

In 2021, approximately 33 percent of Missouri American Water’s external spend was with diverse suppliers.

Suppliers will get to meet engineers and operators to learn about upcoming projects. Breakfast and refreshments will be served.  To register, visit https://forms.office.com/r/tHW4amL1EL
