New Jersey American Water Marks Annual AmerICANs in Action Month of Service
Employees give over 300 hours of volunteerism and 430 pounds of food to community organizations
CAMDEN, N.J. – OCT. 28, 2022 – New Jersey American Water employees gave over 300 hours of volunteerism and donated over 430 pounds of food to community organizations across the state last month through the company’s AmerICANs in Action annual month of service.
“At New Jersey American Water, we believe in the importance of being a good neighbor,” said Denise Venuti Free, Sr. Director of Communications and External Affairs. “We strive to support and enhance the communities where we live, work, and operate and empower our employees to give back to organizations they care about. Our AmerICANs in Action annual month of service is just one way we do this.”
New Jersey American Water’s AmerICANs in Action month of service is designed to encourage employees to lead and manage team-based volunteer projects in their local communities during the month of September. New Jersey American Water employees, family members, retirees, business partners and suppliers are encouraged to participate, donating their time and expertise through and local community groups to make an impact while serving those in need.
This year’s AmerICANs in Action service events included:
- Amico Island Park clean up, Riverside
- Book Smiles book cleaning and sorting, Pennsauken
- Community Foodbank of New Jersey packing and sorting, Hillside
- Food Bank of South Jersey food drive, Pennsauken
- Helping House school supply drive and distribution, Plainfield
- Kids in Need Foundation school supply drive, Colts Neck
- Malcolm Jenkins Foundation Get Ready Fest food and essential item drive and distribution event, Camden
- Monmouth County SPCA, landscaping & grounds maintenance, Eatontown
- Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center Mobile Food Pantry food drive and distribution event, Camden
- Serpentine Creek clean up, Egg Harbor City
- Wesley Lake and Sunset Lake clean up, Asbury Park
- Wiggins Park clean up, Camden
