Pennsylvania American Water Names New Supervisor for Yardley, Norristown Operations

Pennsylvania American Water announced today that George Smidhum Jr. has joined the company as field operations supervisor for its Yardley and Norristown area water systems. His responsibilities include overseeing the Yardley system’s field operations and managing meter reading and customer service for the Norristown system.

The company serves approximately 12,000 customers in its Yardley District and more than 32,000 customers in Norristown and surrounding communities.

Prior to joining the Pennsylvania American Water, Smidhum served as water treatment specialist and account manager for the Northeast Division of Layne Christensen. His career in the water industry spans 25 years in field operations, water treatment consulting and water plant operations.

Smidhum, who is relocating to Yardley, received his bachelors of science in civil engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology
