West Virginia American Water Partners with Capitol Market on New Customer Education Programming

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (June 15, 2023) – West Virginia American Water announced today a new partnership to expand customer education at the Capitol Market in Charleston, West Virginia’s largest indoor-outdoor farmer’s market.

“Our team is customer obsessed, and we continuously look for ways to enhance our engagement while sharing tools and resources that improve the overall customer experience,” said Robert Burton, president of West Virginia American Water. “This new customer education program, in partnership with the Capitol Market, will provide customers direct access to online customer account services, water quality reports and information about customer assistance programs.”

The customer education program will feature a variety of signage throughout the market with QR codes that can be quickly scanned with the camera app on a smartphone. Customers can scan the QR codes throughout the market to easily access information and resources about billing and service, water quality, source water protection, customer assistance programs, the company’s community engagement program and more.

“The Capitol Market is extremely grateful for the opportunity to team up with West Virginia American Water on this innovative customer education programming,” said Evan Osborn, executive director of the Capitol Market. “This first-of-its-kind partnership will reach thousands of West Virginia American Water customers and provide services and information by the simple scan of a QR code.”

West Virginia American Water’s customer education program at the Capitol Market will run through the end of outdoor market season in November and was funded by the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Strategic Impact Grant.
