Water Loading Stations

Kentucky American Water maintains three water-loading stations in Fayette County and two water-loading stations in Owen County for the convenience of customers who require small bulk water purchases, such as customers with landscaping businesses and farms, and those who use cisterns.

Where are the stations located?

Fayette County

  • 1400 Higbee Mill Road (Higbee Mill Road at Clays Mill Road across from Windstream.)
  • 7115 Old Richmond Road (Cleveland Road and Fire Station 18.)

Owen County

  • 208 East Blanton Street
  • 4040 US 127

What hours are the stations open?
The bulk water stations are automated and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How do I pay for this service, and what is the cost?
Customers will need a four-digit account number and a four-digit PIN to access this service. (The old five-digit account numbers are no longer valid.) Units require new accounts to be set up through Kentucky American Water’s local office or by going to pay4water.com.

Funds can be added to your account by going to pay4water.com. The units do not accept cash or coins.

Per Kentucky American Water’s tariff, accounts are prepaid and the rate is $0.1674 per 50 gallons.

How do I connect to the water loading stations to access water?
The new units utilize a standard 2-inch Camlock (quick connect) coupling with a male end.
Customers using the units will need to have a hose with a female end.
