HELP PAYING YOUR WATER BILL IS AVAILABLE

Through our partnership with Dollar Energy Fund, eligible customers can save hundreds of dollars each year, freeing up money for everyday household needs.

You may qualify for:

  • Up to $500 in grants
  • 30% – 90% off monthly water service charges
  • 20% – 90% off charges for the water you use
  • 37% – 85% off monthly wastewater charges
  • $25 forgiven from past-due balances


Help is available and applying is easier than you might think.

SEE IF YOU QUALIFY 

Finding out if you’re eligible is quick and easy.

Customers with household incomes at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (FPIG) may qualify.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to our Dollar Energy Fund application page: dollarenergy.org/myapp/
  2. Check your income
    Use their Income Calculator to find your FPIG level.
    Include before-tax income for all adult household members (excluding minors).
  3. Confirm eligibility
    Use the chart below to see if your FPIG level falls within the program’s range.
  4. Apply for help
    If you qualify, you can apply right away.


You’ll need to re-apply each year to continue receiving benefits.

HOW TO APPLY

Applying for help is simple, and you can choose the option that works best for you.

  • Apply online anytime by starting your application through Dollar Energy Fund’s MyApp portal: dollarenergy.org/myapp/
  • Prefer to speak with someone? Call 1-888-282-6816 for assistance.
  • A paper application is also available for submission by mail, fax or email. Download here and follow the submission instructions included on the application form.

What You’ll Need

You only need four pieces of information to apply:

  1. Total gross monthly income for all adults in your household
  2. Number of people living in your home
  3. Your Pennsylvania American Water account number
  4. Your service address
