SIGNATURE PROGRAM – BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES
The Building Better Communities initiative helps communities served by American Water enhance or create public park spaces that encourage the community to engage in water, nature-inspired play, environmental education, and water-based recreation. During the last seven years, through our partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the American Water Charitable Foundation (AWCF) has awarded $2.8 million to 18 communities served by American Water. We are pleased to continue our partnership with NRPA and anticipate awarding additional projects in 2021. For information regarding this grant opportunity, please contact the American Water Charitable Foundation or NRPA Program Manager, Michele White.
